I Love VINTON AND VIRGINIA GAY HOSPITAL (VGH). Since 1923, the residents of Vinton have had access to quality healthcare close to home due to a generous donation of a forward thinking benefactor, Virginia Walcott Gay.  Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics is a privately operated, nonprofit rural healthcare facility with a dedicated staff, administration and board of directors who support our patients, our staff and our communities.

Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics enhances the quality of life in Vinton and the surrounding areas economically, socially and within the community. The people of the community is the focus of VGH, working to improve the accessibility of the hospital, clinics and the services available.

With that mission in mind, Virginia Gay is expanding the Vinton Family Medical Clinic increasing the access to primary care. Phase I of the Clinic Expansion Project is almost complete and will be open to patients and the public in early October. Phase II of the project will begin immediately following with completion expected in the spring of 2018. The new clinic will have room for 9 providers, there will be improved patient privacy from check-in to check-out, the waiting room area will be much more comfortable, and we will have room to grow  in the future on the second floor.

I love VGH and its support of education in our community! This past year $12,500 in scholarships was awarded to area high school students and $4,500 to VGH nursing staff opting to further their education in a healthcare profession. A new benefit available is forgivable loans. VGH awarded 8 staff members $2,500 in forgivable loans to help ease the burden of their loan commitments.

I love Vinton and VGH providing the health care services needed in our community: the VGH Family Medical Clinics, Out Patient Clinic services, Imaging, Therapy Services, Lab Services, Nursing and Rehab, Skilled Nursing and Emergency Department all available right here where I live.
