Leiha McNeal

Term

My name is Leiha McNeal. I was born and raised in Vinton. I lived in Vinton and worked at Vinton Early Learning Center (then Happy Time) while going to college. After college, I worked for a for-profit center in Cedar Rapids. I helped that center as well as sister centers become nationally accredited. Almost 20 years later, I was privileged to return to where my career began. I am excited to bring my experience and passion for learning back to Vinton Early Learning Center. I have always wanted to be able to be a positive role model in children’s lives.
I volunteer for a local charity called TTT. This committee consists of like minded women that want to give back and make a difference in children’s lives. We support many different charities. One of the most important things we do is send girls to camp. Each year we sponsor two to three girls and provide them with all the supplies they would need and the registration to go to summer camp.
Through my work with Vinton Early Learning Center, I have seen the difference a supportive, open-minded, involved board can make. I love being able to be a part of that for Vinton and Vinton Unlimited.
