The Vinton Good Neighbor project is an effort to recognize those whose good deeds may go unnoticed, to encourage people to look for the positive things in our community, and hopefully prompt Vintonians to participate and become “good neighbors” themselves.
The goal is to encourage civic pride, which will foster the desire to ‘stay local’ in all the areas that help make Vinton a great place to live, shop, work, and play.
This project is open for ALL community members to participate. Anyone may nominate any individual or business in the community. The nominee may be recognized for any reason the moninator feels is important as long as it pertains to benefiting others in the community.
A Vinton Unlimited committee will review all nominations and select up to 10 individuals or businesses to be recognized monthly. Those individuals will have a “Vinton Good Neighbor” yard sign placed at their home or business for their awarded month. Each nominee will also receive a Good Neighbor certificate, two tickets to the Palace Theatre, and be recognized in the preshow ads at the Palace Theatre during their awarded month. At the end of the year, one name will be drawn from the recipients and Vinton Value Dollars will be awarded.
