April 2016: Matt Johnson

Spring is here!

After a pretty easy going winter the warm weather took it’s time arriving.  Now that it’s finally here time will move pretty fast with all the activities around town. Vinton Parks and Recs Department kicks May off with Mother’s Day Mini Golf on the 8th.  Enjoy an opportunity to spend some quality time with Mom on her special day with a relaxing round of mini-golf. All mothers will receive a free round so bring the family to the links and make Mom proud of your putting finesse!

The following weekend – May 14th – Vinton Unlimited brings back Taste of Vinton for another year.  The experience begins in Celebration Park where you will check-in, receive your passport and other information. You will then travel through the Vinton community sampling a variety of products while comparing notes and learning about each selection by our experts!

Also during the day Vinton Parks and Recs has plenty of fun for the kids with “Touch-A-Truck”.  Touch-a-Truck is a community event that provides kids of all ages with the opportunity to experience life-size vehicles and interact with community support leaders like Police Officers, Firemen, Construction Workers, Farmers, and many more!!!!  There will be live music, merchant grilling, free giveaways and the FFA Spring Fling Carnival too.

There are many more events to come this summer all here in town allowing you to spend more time with friends and family and less time (and money) on traveling. Make sure you check out the event calendar at VintonUnlimited.com!
