School may have finished up for the year but life is by no means slowing down here in Vinton over the next few months. With Vinton Unlimited’s jam-packed lineup of concerts, festivals, and entertainment, you’re sure to keep everyone in the family busy for the summer. In between trips to the swimming pool, the Farmer’s Market, and downtown sales by our area merchants, be certain to check out all of the exciting events happening right here in the City of Lights.
On July 9th join us in Celebration Park for the first performance in Vinton Unlimited’s Thursday Night Concert Series featuring musician Zachary Freedom. Zachary, a talented local singer known throughout Iowa and the Midwest, harnesses his acoustically driven vocals to deliver unforgettable performances whether it be in a bar, a church or on a state fair stage. A passionate songwriter, Zachary blends both his own songs and classics into the setlist, covering legends like The Beatles and Garth Brooks, as well as a wide-array of contemporary artists from Bruno Mars to Florida Georgia Line. Bring the whole family out to enjoy this up-and-coming-artist.
Also in July is RAGBRAI, and Vinton will once again host thousands of riders as they make their way across the state on the 23rd. After cheering on the cyclist stampede arriving from the north on Highway 218, make your way downtown and join the RAGBRAI party as we celebrate their ride with professional music, the University of Iowa Dance Team, and dozens of food vendors.
And mark your calendars for Boom-fest and Boomtown, which will be taking place on August 29th. Watch for more details to come, but expect the same unique vendors, diverse food, inflatable fun and legendary fireworks that have been enjoyed in past years.
In between these Vinton Unlimited sponsored events, watch out for the Party in the Park (June 25-27), the VU Golf Tournament (July 10), and The Benton County Fair (July 22-26). As always, feel free to contact Vinton Unlimited with any questions you have regarding these events, or if you would like to become more involved!
Here’s to a memorable summer!
