What a town………
Weather permitting, either of 2 bike/nature trails are a short distance away.
The Cedar River provides miles of entertainment and the River Rats Cleanup Days help keep it safe.
Snowmobile trails enter and exit from every direction with the help of the Tri County Snowmobile Association.
The Boomtown Committee and the Iowa Pyrotechnics Association provide the best fireworks show in the Midwest every year.
The Vinton Car Cruise Committee continues to draw in some of the finest vehicles from a 4 state area, for a full day of entertainment.
Vinton Unlimited works behind the scenes to support those events along with parades, Party in the Park, Boomfest and numerous other promotions.
The Palace Theater is a hidden gem. Movies and live theater presented with an outstanding sound system and comfortable seating.
The Vinton Fire Department and North Benton Ambulance work together to help protect the community.
The Lion, Kiwanis and all the other community organizations all contribute to make Vinton a better place to live.
However, none of the above would be possible without volunteers, none of it. To continue to expect these events and organizations in Vinton to continue, they need our help. They need us to get involved. It doesn’t require much, rather whatever we can give. We all enjoy going to the movies, watching a parade and appreciating the custom cars, but it doesn’t happen without volunteers.
Volunteering is very rewarding and provides a great avenue for meeting new people, networking and learning. If you think this might interest you, contact any of the above groups. If you’re not sure how, Vinton Unlimited can point you in the right direction.
